From Santa With Love......

Well, Christmas Eve came and we took Riley to see Santa. For the whole month we would ask Riley what he wanted from Santa. There was never a response.....then three days before Christmas Riley said he wanted to ask Santa for an M&M's car! We were SO excited! Riley actually had something he wanted for Christmas! So we bundled up and headed to see Santa. The line was unreal but the little over and hour wait wasnt too bad. While we waited in line Riley caught Santa's eye. We were about 3 kids behind in line. He kept waving and smiling to Riley. It was cute watching Riley wave back. Santa picked up the bells he had on a belt or something, and he shook them for Riley. Riley got the cutest smile on his face. Once it was our turn Riley decided he was pretty nervous and didnt want to go but Mommy just picked him up and headed over. Santa asked what Riley wanted for Christmas and Riley said 'A nem's car' which is his M&M's car. He told Santa that was all he wanted. I sat Riley down on Santas lap and he talked to Riley for a bit before the picture. Riley did SO good! We got the cutest picture. Then, Santa looked up at the photographers and asked them to pull off one of the bells they had up there to shake and get the kids attention for a picture. Well, these "elves" looked at Santa like he was crazy and had no clue why he wanted a bell. He told them again to just pull off one of the bells.......they did and tossed one to Santa. Then Santa held it up and looked Riley right in the eye and said "Riley, you have been such a good boy so I am going to give you one of Santa's Jingle Bells!" OH MY GOODNESS!!! You could just imagine the lump in my throat and how quickly tears welled up in my eyes! This was by far the coolest thing I have ever seen. Then Riley thanked him and Santa put him down and told him since he was so good he could even have TWO candy canes! Wow, we were tickled! Too cute. That precious bell will forever be saved and cherished. I just still cant believe it and cant believe I am crying again just typing this message. What a sap! Anyways, it was a great time and Riley loves his Jingle Bell from Santa!

On vacation this week!

Well for a nice surprise, all my daycare kids are on their own vacations this week with their own families....which leaves me with a vacation of my own! SOOOO nice! The house is clean, Christmas movies are ready and lots of toys are to be played with and Riley, Gramma and I are going to be lazy ALL week long! Well, atleast until Christmas day! I think he is a little excited to have Momma to himself! So, I better get back to playing Thomas The Tank Engine with him!

Broken bones.....

Kyle's poor Mom fell and broke her hip this morning. She is living in Oklahoma so we dont like being so far away while she is injured. Kind of sucks! No, it sucks. Luckily her sister Carole is there with her. She is in surgery right now.......so we are waiting to hear how she is doing. Hopefully now she will finally decide to move out here to San Diego to be closer to us!

We are potty training!

We had Riley's cousin Cody over most of last week who is potty trained. Riley was so excited to see Cody using the "big boy toilet" that he took it upon himself to start using it too! Wow! He is doing pretty good too and so very proud of himself when he goes.....he runs out to tell the whole house he peed! Will be nice to not have to buy diapers for a while!
