A Bitter Sweet Moment......

It is always a bitter sweet moment when your little one wants to try something on their own. Riley did just that tonight. He took off his shirt tonight getting ready for bed, all by himself. Then, he proceeded to put on his pajamas ALL BY HIMSELF!!!! We were so excited and boy was he proud of himself. What a big boy!

We drove by an elementary school today and Riley said "look momma, a school.....I wanna go!" He remembered I told him it was a school the last time we went by. Cute! I told him, he was too little. In just 3 years he can go.....maybe.....if I can let you go that is. Isnt it funny, 9 years was a very long time while we were waiting for you Riley. Your first 9 years of life is going to go by so fast. It isnt fair! I know that sounds weird but I know what I meant and I am sure those of you that know the whole story understand.....Atleast I hope you do! So slow down Riley! We arent ready for you to grow up so darn fast!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

With 26 days to go until the big 24 Hour Survivor Crop, I have reached $863 in donations. That is doubled since my last post about the crop. Thank you all so much who were able to donate. I cant tell you how much I appreciate your help. So, does this mean in another 10 days or so I will double the donations again??? :)

Finally started on the lawn!

Saturday Kyle and Riley worked on the lawn. We are sooo tired of dirt and weeds, so something had to be done. They worked hard on it and laid seed down. One section at a time, so it will be a process. Cant wait to see the finished product! Riley was so cute....he even had his own tools to help daddy!

Kids Say The Darndest Things

This morning Riley was sitting on floor at the bathroom door as I was getting ready. I got some powder on him and he said "Oh Damn, my shirt!" Oh my goodness!!! We couldnt believe it. When did he start talking so much and when did his vocabulary get so many colorful words???? Guess Mommy & Daddy really have to be careful now! I THINK MOMMY MORE THAN DADDY HA HA HA

Our Big Boy!!!

Riley reached another milestone today......he has been pedaling his tricycle backwards. Not very far either. Tonight we took him out front and he started pedaling FORWARD!!!! It was like he had been doing it forever too and holding out on us! We are so proud of our little guy.

Isn't being a mommy or daddy so cool??? Something about seeing your child achieve something like that and be so darn proud of himself is just an awesome feeling.

Countdown to the Survivor Crop

My sister Laura and I signed up for a 24 Hour Scrapbooking event to raise funds for the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Research. The event is being held on October 18 & 19th. So basically we are going to be working on our scrapbooks for 24 hours straight......yes I think we are nuts. But it is for a great cause! Each of us had a minimum of $100 we had to raise, and thanks to all my supportive family and friends, to date I have $430!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

39 days to go!!!

I will post my final amount raised as the date nears. My personal goal of pages completed is going to be 150! That may be hard to do, but I will give it a try!

Here is a recent layout I completed. It is Riley searching for Easter Eggs this past Easter.

The picture of the layout isnt the best.......I am still learning!

Trip To Legoland

We took Riley to Legoland in August. He had so much fun! We created a monster and he loves all kinds of rides. Daddy & Riley on our last ride of the day! We are so lucky living in Southern California having so many amusement parks so close to us. But then again, that could be dangerous too. Keep that in mind though......come visit us and you are only a short drive to the San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Legoland, Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm & Magic Mountain!

Labor Day Weekend Vacation

We just came back from a long weekend away in Mariposa, California. We went up to visit Kyle's Grandma, Aunt Lori and Aunt Beth. It was a great time and of course, not long enough. The last time we visited, I was 5 months pregnant which was three years ago that very same weekend! So, Aunt Lori and Aunt Beth both got to meet Riley for the first time. He took to them very well! My Mom came along with us. She and Grandma are the best of friends. We used this trip to surprise Grandma and it was a great surprise!

The fair was in town so we took Riley. He had a blast and he even rode his very first roller coaster. He wasnt too sure about that one. Kyle was in the pits for the Destruction Derby that night. If there is a race, no matter what kind, Kyle will be there! He had fun though. Pretty neat to go to a small town fair! We teased because we drove 7 hours for Kyle to work in the pits for the derby AND I got my haircut......no chopped off!

Yes, I went on a vacation and cut my hair. If you are ever in the area of Mariposa (approx 40 miles from Yosemite), and need a vacation, I highly recommend getting your hair cut with Aunt Beth!!!! She cut my hair and she is by far the best stylist I have been to. Love my haircut!!! Thanks Aunt Beth!!!

We left Monday morning and headed to the Tehachapi Loop! Love it there! Riley had never been that close to trains before and got a little scared, but that didnt last long. Mom had never been there before so it was a treat for her too.

First Attempt At Blogging!

Well, this is a new thing for me. I thought I would take a stab at it. I will be learning as I go so let me know what you think! I figured since we have so many friends and family spread out all over, this would be the best way for you to check in on whats going on. I know, I know, just something else to add to my plate of things to do, but this should be fun!
